As I waited for my coffee, my phone buzzed. Even in bucolic St. Augustine, early-morning phone calls never boded well. I sighed before answering.
āItās Joe. Yeah?ā
āMorning, Joe. Hear you got into a fist fight last night. You doing okay?ā

As you can see, I am already on the 4th book in the series in less than a week! I am enjoying the stories and the āless than perfectā heroine.
I took a chance on these since I love mystery and thriller books. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying them. I have not ready any other books since opening the first one by Chris Culver! Excellent characters and storylines. Thank you!

I didnāt expect such deep current events crime subjects; these books are not v light B and fluffy!! So, I have only finished the first book. But I am glad to have them, and I root for Joe!!

Caught me the first chapter, I'm 4 books in on day 3! Love Joe! Only one disappointment, she didn't stay with Roger until the very end, that's what a pet lover does. Yeah it hurts like absolute hell, but it makes it easier for the pet. She's a good cop, I'd have punched the chief in the nose! Great read.
I couldn't put these books down! I was amazed at how resilient the author was, he never gave up, he even managed to infuse some humor. I can't imagine going through what he and his family went through growing up.
